We deeply mourn the passing of legendary astrophysicist, Prof. Jayant Narlikar. We had the honour of working with him as a team that identified 3 new bacterial species in air samples collected from the upper atmosphere. Apart from his scientific excellence, his significant contributions to science popularization have inspired generations. His legacy will continue to inspire the pursuit of knowledge and the dissemination of science. May he rest in peace. Our heartfelt condolences to his family.
