NCCS marked its 37th Foundation Day together with the first birthday of India’s BioE3 Policy
26 Aug 2025
Our Chief Guest, Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, inspired everyone by reminding us that real innovation comes from problem-solving, teamwork, and the courage to learn from failure. He also highlighted how national missions like BIRAC, Startup India, and Atal Innovation Mission are shaping India’s future in science.
Dr. Sharmila Bapat, Director (Additional Charge), celebrated NCCS’s rich journey in research and training over 400 Ph.D. scholars, while sharing the exciting vision of the upcoming Bioengineering Research Centre (BRC) at Baner—home to cutting-edge biofoundries and scale-up platforms aligned with the Economy, Environment & Employment (BioE3) goals.
A panel discussion on “BioE3 at One” was also held on this occasion. The Panellists included Dr. Anand Deshpande – MD, Persistent Systems, Pune; Dr. Maneesha Inamdar – Director, BRIC-inStem, Bengaluru; Dr. Nanaocha Sharma – Director, BRIC IBSD, Imphal; Dr. Prashant Dhakephalkar – Director, ARI Pune; and Dr. Arvind Sahu – Director, RCB Faridabad. They shared emerging success stories inspired and nurtured by the BioE3 ecosystem.
To make the celebrations even more vibrant, we hosted poster, rangoli, and reel competitions on the BioE3 theme—bringing science, art, and creativity together!
Here’s to a greener, innovative, and brighter future.
